Installation and Training
Implementation
Our Implementation Team recognizes that the key to success is providing
an organized and structured approach to the implementation—while tailoring the process to
accommodate your unique needs.
We get involved early in the relationship with a client, developing a Practice
Analysis and customized implementation plan to accommodate the strengths and skills of
each customer. When we begin implementation, we conduct meetings to review each step
of the project plan.
Joint teams develop a detailed understanding of the return on investment (ROI) goals for the project and
outlines dependencies on external systems/projects. Teams then focus the project scope to meet ROI goals,
engage executive sponsorship and physician leaders to form a joint team, and plan for additional technical
infrastructure needs.
The Implementation Team stays in close contact throughout the process.
Throughout the process, provide comprehensive training to your staff. If you choose,
we can employ a “train the trainer” approach, so you can manage the process (and control
the costs) of implementing the system in multiple sites.
As part of the implementation, First Medical Solutions (FMS) and clients analyze current technical support capabilities, assess physician "form-factor" needs, provide training/coaching to physicians, and ensure that
the client has the best environment possible for their EMR solution..
After go-live, FMS conducts follow-up with all end-users to ensure that
any issues are resolved and the system is stabilized. FMS also offers post-live training
services as well as a Clinical Content Library for developing templates and leveraging best
practices.
Once you are up and running, we continue to support your needs—helping
you maximize your use of the system and providing ongoing training for updates and upgrades.
These are available through advanced courses at select FMS offices, online via the FMS Learning
Center, and at our annual User Group Meeting.
Training
At First Medical Solutions we recognize the importance of a carefully
orchestrated implementation and therefore we offer both onsite and online installation/training
support for all our products. Our team of professional software & computer integrators
will help ensure that your implementation is a success.
We recommend one-on-one training
for first-time software use, and classes for topical training. Electronic
Medical Records software generally takes about four hours for a seasoned biller to become proficient. Remote training
is also highly recommended.
First Medical Solutions' basic training is full of fundamental information
to get new staff members started, as well as tips and shortcuts to aid the experienced
user. You don't have to be a computer expert to participate either. You can learn about
computers and the First Medical Solutions from the beginning and see how easy using a
computer in a medical office can be.
If your staff has time during the day, they can start
taking a tutorial. If they get busy, they can bookmark the topic and come back to it
later when they have time. Complete step-by-step documentation and extensive online help
is always available.
Students have the option of taking a course "from start to finish" by
selecting a topic and then "running the course" until it is over. They can,
however, "slice
and dice" the topics by selecting only those portions of material they need to learn.
For example, a staff member who already understands the concept could go through a topic
right on the job, rather than interrupt a colleague or guesses at the right answer.
Online/Remote Training
First Medical Solutions offers online training
via web conferencing software. This can be done one-on-one or in a group. This allows
each office and their staff to learn the system at their own pace. Online training is
also available after the installation to help train new staff, implement new features
or simply as a refresher.
