3) Adding random people on random groups
A classic. Facebook users, who are also a member to a hundred of groups or so, tend to invite random friends to the groups that they are a member of. However, this is downright bothersome not just because of the surge of notifications for each activity on the group, but also because you are added without your knowledge.
If the group that you are added in is relevant to you or your page, you might as well explore that group and thank that friend who added you. Turning off the notifications will do. Just go to the group, click the and off you go.
However, if leaving that particular group is the next best thing to do, here’s how to do it.
Go to the group.
Click Joined. A drop-down menu will be displayed.
A dialog box will open.
Select Leave Group.
You may also click More to go to the list of Groups You’re In. Across each group is the gear-like icon. Click the icon. Then, click Leave Group. A dialog box will open. Click Leave Group.
Upon leaving the group, you will no longer receive notifications and your name will be removed on the list of members. The group’s name will be also removed from your list of groups.
